The island of Vormsi is teeming with birds, and the birdwatching towers on the Rumpo Peninsula offer a superb opportunity to explore this abundance of birdlife.

The towers offer a good view of Hullo Bay. Further away lie small coastal islands that serve as nesting grounds for hundreds of seabirds. In addition, large numbers of waterfowl congregate on Hullo Bay as a stopover during their spring and autumn migrations. During mild winters, the sea here does not freeze over, making it possible to spot waterfowl from the birdwatching towers almost year-round.

The juniper shrublands of Rumpo peninsula attract a wide variety of passerines. In late spring and summer, keep an eye out for red-backed shrikes and brightly coloured common rosefinches in juniper bushes.
